Summerween in July? We are so here for it. Here’s hoping we cool you off with our stunning Strut bride, Alisha, and her husband, Gabriel! These two got married in October of last year at the Nordic Village in Flagstaff, Arizona. Their snowy forest ceremony looked like something straight out of a dream. With only 40 guests and a cozy, nature-filled background, it was the perfect place for a wedding that was both intimate and magical, and she wore the most amazing magical forest theme black wedding dress!
Alisha came to our Chandler, Arizona bridal store looking for something bold, unique, and true to her style, and that’s exactly what she left with. Her black wedding gown started with basic shoulder straps that didn’t feel like her at all. But with the help of her amazing stylist, Ronnie, it was completely transformed into a beautiful black off-the-shoulder wedding gown! “Ronnie noticed this and completely changed the neckline and transformed it into my dream dress.”, Alisha said. The final look included dramatic lace details and a long, lightly snowed-on train that fit perfectly with her dark, magical forest theme. Her bright red curls and fur cape tied her look together in the best way!
One of the most unforgettable moments of Alisha’s wedding day was the first look with Gabriel and her father! “Seeing my husband and my dad see me in my dress for the first time (and seeing them both cry) was a memory I will never forget.” Her photos captured that emotion beautifully, along with all the snowflakes, forest vibes, and laughter in between. Even when the music glitched during their first dance, she kept her focus on what mattered! “Every single thing that could have gone wrong for our wedding did. But that’s okay because what’s important is we are married and love one another.”
Alisha also mentioned how much her wedding dress shopping experience at Strut meant to her! “Even when I came in super emotional and alone, Ronnie would calm me down, get me a drink, and encourage me about how beautiful it all was gonna be.” She added that being a plus-size and non-traditional bride can sometimes feel intimidating, but not at Strut. “It was always warm and inviting, no judgment at all ever.”
If Alisha had to give a piece of advice to future brides, she would tell them to do their best once the big day comes. Alisha learned that even when things don’t go as planned, love and joy will still shine through. We’re so grateful to have been a part of her journey, and we couldn’t be more proud of Ronnie for bringing Alisha’s magical black forest theme wedding dress to life.
